Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Action Figure questions?
I have some questions about some of the transformer toys
1)Why is it that the stores never put out some of the action figures I'm looking for like Ironhide and Starscream
2) Why am I seeing a bunch of voyager class Ratchets and Deluxe Class Autobot wheelie on shelves in every store i go to that sells transformers stuff
3) Why do stores put on there shelves either a bunch of Leader Class Optimus primes, or a bunch of leader class megatron and there's barely any jetfires
4)where do you think is the best place to buy transformer figures, toy R us, walmart, target, ETC, but don't say internet
5) this last one is just your opinion and its what do u think is the worst figure you have or is in your collection and tell me why, for me its voyager class the fallen, because getting him was really hard and he's not even worth being that rare.
So those are my questions, i hope you can answer them all and thanks
1) Transformers figures come out in waves. Earlier waves are of course displayed first, until the whole inventory is out, so some stores may be stuck with old toys for a long time. Once the next wave is put up on shelves, you won't be seeing earlier wave toys like Ironhide or Starscream, unless they find another box.
2) That happens to me too. Partially because of the popularity of the character or the mold. Voyager class Ratchet for the Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) line is an extremely simple recolor of the 1st movies version. As such, people don't buy the new Ratchet. As for Wheelie, it is arguable that he is an unpopular character. Also, collectors tend to be unhappy with the Wheelie figure, due to his extremely large size in robot mode, putting him out of size.
3) Jetfire is a later toy and came by itself in a new wave. As such Jetfires are not bought by the store as much. Also Optimus and Megatron (coming together in the same shipment as well) are very popular figures, and stores tend to overbuy on them, causing an unwanted surplus, and a longer time to get the Jetfire figures we all want.
4) As awkward as it is (especially for a teenager like myself), Toys R Us is the best place to buy Transformers. As people go to Toys R Us specifically to buy toys, it's less likely that you will have to deal with the problems mentioned in answer (1). Check tfw2005.com for when toys are first sighted and where. Also tfwiki.net has a list of the different waves of figures and their release dates.
5) My least favorite ROTF figures are definitely Skids and Megatron. Deluxe class Skids is a mediocre representation of the movie character. The two different shades of green make it very innaccurrate. All the kibble (extra items serving no real purpose) on his back also gets in the way of his head and leg articulation. While Leader Megatron is not a horrible mold, it's an indecent representation of the movie figure, as it was based on early concept arts. Also, his inability to bend at the elbow on his cannon arm is extremely irritating and his overall lack of colors is not too pleasent either. Definitely not worth the $45.
